Presentation

Pain following injury.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
mri

Partial-thickness malacia of the patellar cartilage, notably in the lateral facet, with foci of cortical damage. No significant joint effusion.

Medial and lateral menisci - normal height and signal.
Anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments - normal thickness, course, and signal.
Medial and lateral collateral ligaments - normal thickness, course, and signal.
Quadriceps tendon - normal thickness, course, and signal.
Patellar tendon - normal thickness, course, and signal.
Muscle layers, intervening fat planes, skin, and subcutaneous tissue - normal appearance.
