Differential diagnosis should be made with a tumor brown hyperparathyroidism, non-ossifying fibroma, intraosseous ganglion, aneurysmal bone cyst, myeloma, chondroblastoma, chondrosarcoma, osteoblastoma, fibrosarcoma, osteosarcoma, benign fibrous histiocytoma, chondromyxoid fibroma and carcinoma metastatic.

Giant cell tumor at such a location is unusually aggressive and needs regular follow up to detect local recurrence.
