There is a complete rupture of the tibialis posterior tendon with empty tendon sheath well-visualized behind the medial malleolus. The distal end is thickened with edematous infiltration. The distal end is retracted approximately 5.5 cm above the talocrural joint. No soft tissue swelling or edema is seen (chronic rupture).
Case Discussion
MRI features of a complete chronic rupture of the tibialis posterior tendon.
