Right ankle pain without trauma.
Patient Data
In the anterior tibial joint, there is slight nodular opacity with regular margins. Also posteriorly there is a recognizable increase in opacity with a compressive effect on the adipose triangle of the Kager.
In the anterior tibial joint, there is a nodule of synovial hypertrophy with blooming artifacts. Smaller nodule with blooming artifact is also noted posteriorly. Bone erosions and joint effusion are not recognizable.

Pigmented villonodular synovitis is a benign proliferative disorder of the synovial membrane characterized by proliferative, locally invasive tumor-like lesions, usually involving a single joint, tendon sheath or bursa.
