Several erosions of both SIJs are visible, mainly at the sacral sides (the largest one visible in the antero-inferior aspect of the left SIJ), with adjacent active inflammatory changes, more pronounced on the left. Marked subchondral sclerosis of the right SIJ.
Intestinal inflammatory changes and free fluid in the pelvis are noted at the periphery of the study.
Case Discussion
Crohn disease often involves other systems and musculoskeletal disorders are the most common extraintestinal manifestations of it, sacroiliitis being one of them. This patient had known Crohn disease and therefore her symptoms prompted the investigation for sacroiliitis.
