A hypodense, non-enhancing thrombus is noted straddling the bifurcation of the pulmonary trunk and extending into the right and left main pulmonary arteries, which appear prominent with multiple filling defects seen involving both the upper and lower segmental and subsegmental branches.
Case Discussion
Pulmonary thromboembolism is potentially life-threatening. Cross-sectional imaging is the mainstay of diagnosis. Early diagnosis and treatment improve the outcome.
