Mucinous rectal adenocarcinoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Male, complaining to pelvic pain and rectal bleeding.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

Rectal wall of mid and high ampula enlarged due to bulky mass, showed high signal intensity on T2-weighted imaging, due to the presence of mucin in the structure. Tumor spreads through the al wall. On diffusion-weighted imaging (b = 800 s/mm2 ) and ADC map revealed diffusion restriction.

Case Discussion

Diagnosis confirmed histologically.
The patient underwent neoadjuvant CRT.
There is no available imaging follow-up.
