Presentation

Fall from a stepladder. Enters accident and emergency as polytrauma.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Heart size normal.  Lungs clear.

Normal mediastinal contours.

Medial displacement of both humeral heads.

Dedicated shoulder radiographs

x-ray

Bilateral anterior shoulder dislocations.  No fracture.

Case Discussion

Bilateral shoulder dislocation is a pretty unusual occurrence and the chest x-ray even more so.

Both shoulders were relocated following manipulation.
