Fall onto outstretched hand. Painful swollen wrist.

Age: 10 years
Gender: Female

Buckle fracture of the distal radius with buckling of the dorsal cortex and minor angulation. The volar cortex is intact.

Case Discussion

This is a classic buckle fracture in an older child. The dorsal cortex is buckled and the volar cortex is intact. Minor dorsal angulation.
