Shortness of breath.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

Massive pericardial effusion. Enlarged upper mediastinal lymph nodes. Nutmeg liver. Ascites. 

Case Discussion

Massive pericardial effusion resulting in elevated right heart pressures and nutmeg liver. The cause of the effusion is not known but may be related to chronic parasitic infection due to the endemic area.
