Abdominopelvic rhabdomyosarcoma

Presentation

Abdominal mass.

Patient Data

Age: 3 years
Gender: Female

Very large heterogeneously enhancing retroperitoneal mass extending from the upper abdomen into the right pelvis displacing the bladder towards the left, filling much of the abdominal cavity. Abdominal aorta and iliac vessels displaced and encased along the leftward aspect of the mass. Obstruction of the right ureter by the mass with delayed right nephrogram. Mild left hydronephrosis. 

Case Discussion

A tragic case of a massive biopsy proven rhabdomyosarcoma which appears to be arising from the retroperitoneum based on its relationship with the abdominal aorta and displacement of the bladder in the right pelvis.
