Left of midline at the level of L1 verterbal body.
What radiological sign describes the appearance of the descending small bowel?
Corkscrew sign.
What vascular relationship may help indicate the abnormaility on US or CT?
SMA / SMV relationship may be altered with SMA to right of SMV rather than left.
Barium meal demonstrates malrotation, with the DJ flexure not visible, and certainly not located to the left of the midline. Rather the small bowel passes directly inferiorly from the second part of the duodenum with are helical path.
