Extensive calcifications that compromise the white matter predominantly in semi-oval centers and bilaterally radiated crown.

Case Discussion

Fahr syndrome is characterized by calcium deposits compromising the white matter in the indicated locations. In the case of this patient, she had a history of thyroid resection, which led to secondary hypoparathyroidism with cerebral calcinosis as the cause of the seizures.
