Incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
mri

There is a fusiform dilatation of the central ependymal canal of the spinal cord at the tip of the conus medullaris extending over 26 mm with a transverse diameter of 7 mm. No cord edema is seen.

 

Case Discussion

The MRI feature is most consistent with a ventriculus terminalis

The main differential diagnosis is the filar cyst which is located within the filum terminale.
