Presentation

RT-PCR positive for COVID. Complain of cough and shorntess of breath.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Patchy areas of ground glass opacification with associated linear fibrous bands / septal lines noted in apical, posterior segment of right lung upper, apicoposterior, superior lingular segment of left lung upper, superior and posterior basal segments of both lung lower lobes. Subsegmental atelectasis / linear fibrous bands also seen in medial segment of right lung middle lobe. Overall imaging appearances are representing changes secondary to COVID-19 pneumonia.

Case Discussion

This patient tested positive for COVID pneumonia 15 days earlier. The imaging appearances are representative of peak/ early absorptive stage demonstrating ground glass opacities alongside fibrotic changes.
