MRI shows inflammatory changes near the anterior tibial tuberosity (pre-tibial edema, PD fat sat hyper signal) with bony fragmentation.
Minimal joint effusion.
Baker cyst measuring about 20*30 mm at posteromedial aspect of knee joint.
Case Discussion
MRI findings are compatible with Osgood-Schlatter disease in this young patient. Clinically, this condition was also suspected.
Osgood-Schlatter disease is a chronic fatigue injury due to repeated microtrauma at the patellar ligament insertion onto the tibial tuberosity.
