Presentation

Infertility workup.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

There is complete duplication of the uterine horns and cervices. There is duplication of the upper vagina. The right hemivagina is distended, measuring 5.5 x 0.8 cm, with slightly turbid contents. No internal vascularity or soft tissue components.Normally examined both kidneys with no associated renal anomalies.

There is complete duplication of the uterine horns and cervices. The left horn measures ~8.0 x 3.0 cm with an average endometrial thickness of ~12 mm. The right horn measures ~7.2 x 3.0 cm with an average endometrial thickness of ~8 mm. No hematometrocolpos.

There is duplication of the upper vagina. The right hemivagina is dilated with low T1 high T2 and STIR signal intense contents. The left hemivagina appears compressed. This raises the possibility of a partial vaginal septum associated with obstruction.

Case Discussion

Uterus didelphys is a type of Mullerian duct anomaly where there is a complete duplication of uterine horns as well as duplication of the cervix, with no communication between them.
