Pain in dorsal aspect of wrist.
Patient Data
Small cystic lesion along dorsal aspects of scapholunate joint with suspicion of partial tears of dorsal intercarpal ligament and surrounding edema.
Mildly displaced fracture of styloid process of ulna with tear of styloidccattachment of triangular fibrocartilage. Partial tear of foveal attachment of angular fibrocartilage.
Tendinosis of the extensor carpi ulnaris tendon with longitudinal interstitial tear.
Partial tears of ulnar collateral ligament and ulnomeniscal homologue.
Case Discussion
Small cystic lesion along dorsal aspects of scapholunate joint consistent with a ganglion cyst. Suspicion of partial tears of dorsal intercarpal ligament and surrounding edema.
Ganglion cysts of the wrist can be very small and still be the cause of patient's pain. The intercarpal ligaments are usually not well seen. However, in the presence of ganglion cysts, they should be closely scrutinized as their injury can lead to formation of ganglion cysts.
