Interstitial ectopic pregnancy

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

A primigravida presented with 6 weeks and 4 days of amenorrhea. She complained of lower abdominal mild pain along with spotting per vaginum for the last two days. Two days before the ultrasound, the serum beta HCG level was 1063 mIU/ml.

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

The retroverted uterus without myometrial lesion. Empty endometrial cavity. A gestational sac in the left cornual region. An echogenic line extends from the endometrium to the gestational sac. The minimum myometrial thickness around the gestational sac is 1.7 mm. The mean sac diameter (MSD) is 5.6 mm. The yolk sac is not developed.

Both ovaries are normal. No adnexal mass lesion on either side. No free fluid in the pelvis.
