Presentation

Incidentally detected lesion in the anatomical location of the right adrenal gland.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

A multi-loculated cystic lesion is visible, in the anatomical location of the right adrenal gland, some parts of the normal right adrenal are also visible. The lesion does not have any soft tissue component and shows mural and septal calcifications. Several gallstones and steatohepatitis are other findings.

The photo of the pathology result of the resected right adrenal lesion shows an endothelial cyst.

Case Discussion

A cystic pheochromocytoma is in the differential diagnosis of cystic adrenal lesions, but usually a fluid-fluid level, due to intracystic hemorrhage is present. Hydatid cyst, pseudocysts, and epithelial cysts are in the differential diagnosis of adrenal cysts.
