Brain metastasis - small cell lung cancer

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Known case of the lung cancer small cell type underwent chemotherapy that recently complainant of disequilibrium and headache.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

A few abnormal signal intra axial enhancing lesions at the cerebral and cerebellar hemispheres

Two ring enhancement lesions up to 10 mm and 15 mm at left and right cerebellar hemispheres respectively

High signal foci in T2 and flair sequences at subcortical and periventricular white matter of both cerebral hemispheres depicts microvascular ischemic events.

Case Discussion

The recent patient was a known case of small cell lung cancer with brain metastasis at the time of diagnosis who underwent chemotherapy since 18 months ago and referred for follow-up of brain imaging because of headache and disequilibrium.
