Presentation
History of blunt trauma to the left-sided chest wall one day before the presentation. Complaining of left-sided chest wall localized pain while coughing. The patient was referred to rule in/ rule out rib fracture.
Patient Data
There is no displaced rib fracture. There is no surgical emphysema.
There is no rib cortical buckling/ displaced fracture without compression at the site of localized pain pointed by the patient. However, there is rib cortical buckling with local compression. It involves the anterior third of the left 6th rib. There is no local soft tissue collection. There was no effusion in the pleural space. The lung sliding was present.
There is no rib cortical buckling in the asymptomatic area.
Case Discussion
The case shows a buckle rib fracture diagnosed with compression ultrasound.
