Vaginal bleeding.
Patient Data
Circumferential thickening of the cervical wall forming a soft tissue mass measuring (5.2 x 4.8 x 4.2 cm), involving the upper 2/3rd of vagina and right parametrium. It elicits an isosignal to the myometrium on T1 and T2 with a heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences with restricted diffusion. No extension to the posterior wall of the urinary bladder or the anterior wall of the rectum. Right pelvic lymphadenopathies are noted.
Retroflexed uterus with intramural leiomyoma (5.5 x 4.8 x 4 cm).
No distant metastases or para-aortic lymphadenopathy seen on CT (not shown).
Case Discussion
Diagnosis: Cervical squamous cell carcinoma (pathology proved) FIGO IIIC1.
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the cervix is considered as the most common histological subtype of cervical cancer (80-90% of cases).
