Screening breast ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 55
Gender: Female

A tubular structure immersed in the adipose tissue of the upper-external quadrant of a normal breast. Color Doppler clearly demonstrates its vascular nature.

Case Discussion

The artery is a branch of the lateral mammary artery (from the axillary artery), associated with a vein and a nerve (not visible) which constitutes the neurovascular bundle that does not follow the duct system.
