Presentation

Shortened right lower limb and pain while walking.

Patient Data

Age: 7 years
Gender: Male

The femoral epiphysis is smaller on the right and there is an underdeveloped, shallow right acetabulum. The right femoral head is laterally decentred and is almost certainly fully dislocated.

Case Discussion

Features are of right sided developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) with femoral head dislocation.
