Spinal arachnoid cyst

Presentation

Low back pain radiating to the left lower limb.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
mri

A well-circumscribed bilobulated cystic lesion (4 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm) of epidural location is noted at L1-L2 level, lateralized to the left with widening of the neural foramina and scalloping of the adjacent vertebral bodies. It is of CSF signal on all sequences with no enhancement following IV contrast. There a mass effect on the thecal sac which is displaced to the right.
