Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Diabetes mellitus, hypertension and diplopia.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Bilateral globi pallidi returning high signal intensities in the T1 weighted sequence.

No diffusion restriction. No blooming artifact.

Case Discussion

Bilateral T1-hyperintense globi pallidi. Taking history into consideration, the features are suggestive of bilateral diabetic striatopathy secondary to uncontrolled diabetes. The differetial is acquired hepatocerebral degeneration.
