Veno-occlusive mesenteric ischemia

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Abdominal pain, anorexia, epigastric area pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Filling defect of the superior mesenteric vein, SMV branches, portal vein, its branches as well as the splenic vein is noted. 
There are a few fluid-filled dilated bowel loops with a thickened enhancing wall containing mural air.
Mesenteric congestion and stranding are noted in the vicinity. 
Multiple collaterals are noted in the porta hepatis and distal esophagus.

Case Discussion

The imaging findings are representing veno-occlusive mesenteric ischemia and cavernous transformation of portal vein
