Pathological fracture of the clavicle (multiple myeloma)

Presentation

Sudden onset left shoulder pain when lifting a small child.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Midshaft left clavicular fracture with minor inferior translation and angulation on background of central lucency with cortical thinning in keeping with a pathological fracture.

Multiple well defined lucencies throughout the imaged skeleton, involving the left scapula, proximal humerus and several ribs. Old left posterior rib fractures. 

Right sided portacath partially imaged.

The patient had known diagnosis of multiple myeloma.
