Transitional cell carcinoma - bladder

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right flank pain with hematuria.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Homogeneously enhancing lobulated soft tissue mass (measuring 36 x 34 x 32 mm) centered on the right vesicoureteric junction, protruding into the bladder lumen and invading the ureteral orifice with ipsilateral ureterohydronephrosis and delayed excretion of the kidney on CT urography. Two right iliac lymphadenopathy (the largest measures 20 x 18 mm).

Bilateral simple cortical renal cysts, the largest measures 42 mm.

Two hepatic hydatid cysts, located in segment 4 (measuring 55 x 50 x 45 mm), and segment 7 (95 x 85 x 75 mm). Incidental findings in this case.

Case Discussion

CT urography of a soft tissue mass centered on the vesicoureteric junction, protruding into the bladder lumen and invading the ipsilateral ureteral orifice with ureterohydronephrosis, pathologically proven as transitional cell carcinoma.
