Acute abdominal pain.
Patient Data
Hepatic attenuation value is less than of the spleen, suggesting uneven fatty liver. Some parenchymal heterogeneity is present in the vicinity of the gallbladder. There is mildly distended gallbladder with wall thickening, mucosal enhancement and slightly pericholecystic inflammatory changes. Pneumobilia is also observed could be suggestive for recent stone passage.
Small fat containing umbilical hernia is present.
Diffuse urinary bladder wall thickening is seen.
Case Discussion
Features are compatible with acute cholecystitis and probable recent gallstone passing.
Acute cholecystitis refers to the acute inflammation of the gallbladder. It is the most common cause of acute pain in the right upper quadrant.
