Linitis plastica

Presentation

Abdominal pain and dyspepsia.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female
ct

Diffusely increased wall thickness due to tumoral infiltration is present at the gastric body resembling linitis plastica, accompanied by perigastric fat stranding and several regional lymphadenopathies with short axis diameter of less than 12 mm.

A 48 mm thin walled non-enhanced cyst is present at the lower pole of the spleen. Additionally, several small cysts less than 9 mm are observed at the spleen. 

Several non-enhanced simple cortical cysts are seen in both kidneys.

L5 vertebra is sacralized.

Case Discussion

Pathology proved gastric adenocarcinoma (signet ring type) which is causing linitis plastica.
