Routine abdomen ultrasound. History of blood transfusion.

Multiple tiny echogenic foci scattered within the spleen without obvious posterior acoustic shadowing.

Case Discussion

Splenic siderotic nodules, also known as Gamna-Gandy Bodies (GGBs) was first described in a patient with biliary cirrhosis, by French physician, Charles Gandy, in 1905.1 GGBs are few millimeter granuloma like nodules composed of hemosiderin, calcium and fibrous tissue with crystal structure of CaPO4.FeOH.1
