Presentation

Fall from a height on outstretched left hand, then suffering from painful swelling at forearm and elbow deformity.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Displaced complete fracture of the mid-ulnar diaphysis.

Malalignment of the radial head which has been dislocated.

The patient underwent surgery with ulnar fracture internal fixation using screw-plate following reduction of the radial head.

Case Discussion

Fracture of the ulna with dislocation of the radial head, consistent with a Monteggia fracture.
