Entire spine stiffness.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Absence of the posterior arch of C1 except for a persistent posterior tubercle. Normal facet joints. Normal alignment.

Case Discussion

With the absence of the posterior arch except for the persistence of the posterior tubercle, this is a Currarino type D congenital anomaly of the posterior arch. Given no specific craniocervical junction symptoms, this should be considered an incidental finding.
