Pelvic pain and hematuria.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

There is a left inguinal hernia containing a part of the urinary bladder in addition to fat content. The herniated portion of the bladder shows wall thickening. After contrast media administration, thickened wall enhances homogeneously.

Case Discussion

Here is a case of a left inguinal hernia containing a part of the urinary bladder wall. Thickening of the herniated portion of the urinary bladder wall seems to be due to incarceration however the possibility of an underlying neoplasm should also be considered. Cases of carcinoma within an inguinally herniated urinary bladder had been reported 1,2.
