Elongation of the colon is present, accompanied by a redundant sigmoid colon and transverse colon ptosis. No pathologic filling defect or outpouching is observed.

Dolichocolon is an elongation of the colon, usually resulting in flexures, loops, and kinks in the lumen of the gut causing chronic constipation.
