Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

Tortuous internal carotid arteries with retropharyngeal course.

Coronal section show midline approximation of internal carotid arteries producing the so-called kissing carotid arteries. 

Case Discussion

Retropharyngeal carotid arteries must be mentioned in radiological reports especially in case of retropharyngeal surgery/intubation.
