Presentation

Left ankle retrocalcaneal pain and swelling. No trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Bony prominence in the posterior superior aspect of the calcaneal tuberosity. Calcaneal tendon shadow thickening and small bony fragment.

Calcaneal and anterior tibial spur.

The Chauveaux–Liet angle is above 13 degrees.

Case Discussion

The patient complaints and radiographic findings are in keeping with a Haglund deformity.

The Chauveaux–Liet angle more than 12 degrees is considered abnormal.
