Metastatic sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Abdominal pain and chronic constipation.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Increased wall thickness due to tumoral infiltration is present at the proximal of the sigmoid colon, measuring about 10cm in length.

Several enlarged lymph nodes are also noted in the vicinity of the diseased segment with short axis diameter up to 13 mm.

Multiple varying sized low enhancing masses are seen at the liver up to 120 mm, compatible with metastases.

Several stones up to 17 mm are present in the gallbladder.

Several nodules are observed in imaged portions of the lower thorax at both lung fields up to 8 mm, suggestive of metastases.

Case Discussion

Sigmoid colon mass; pathology proved adenocarcinoma with regional enlarged lymph nodes and hepatic and pulmonary metastases.
