Right tubal block - tufted like appearance

Case contributed by Bahman Rasuli
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Primary infertility.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

The right fallopian tube presents multiple small nodular/diverticular appearances located in the ampullary portion, probably related to scars giving the tubal outline a rosette-like appearance.

The peritoneal spill is positive only on the left side.

There are no filling defects within the uterine cavity and the outline is smooth and regular.

Case Discussion

The right fallopian tube shows diverticular outpouchings on the contour of the tubal lumen and possible tubal occlusion giving it a tufted-like appearance. This recent patient lives in the endemic area of tuberculosis and all of the findings could be due to caseous ulceration of right fallopian tube mucosa.
