Bado classification is used to classify Monteggia fracture-dislocations:

  • type I: anterior dislocation of the radial head and anteriorly angulated ulnar shaft fracture
  • type II: posterior dislocation of the radial head and posteriorly angulated ulnar shaft fracture
  • type III: lateral or anterolateral dislocation of the radial head and metaphyseal ulnar fracture
  • type IV: anterior dislocation of the radial head and ulnar and radial fractures
