Adenomyosis and bilateral tubal block on hysterosalpingogram

Case contributed by Bahman Rasuli
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Secondary infertility for 10 years.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Diffuse irregularity of uterine cavity contour with multiple irregular branching outpouchings of contrast radiating from the uterine cavity, inferring extension of the endometrial glands into the myometrium.

Hysterosalpingogram fails to outline either of the fallopian tubes. No peritoneal spill was seen on either side.

Case Discussion

The imaging findings are compatible with diffuse adenomyosis and bilateral tubal block with no evidence of peritoneal spillage on either side.
