Ureterovesical junction calculus

Presentation

Left side flank pain, nausea, vomiting, dysuria, and frequency for three days.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

A calculus coronal height up to 3 mm on the left side UVJ and hydroureteronephrosis upstream are seen. Tiny calculus up to 1.5 mm in the right kidney lower pole and similar focus in the left kidney upper pole are also noted.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the ureterovesical junction calculus as one of the most common locations of ureterolithiasis which can also be readily seen by a meticulous ultrasound exam of the bladder.
