Presentation

Octogenarian who presented with a pulsatile abdominal mass on palpation.

Patient Data

Age: 89
Gender: Female
CT

The distal abdominal aorta is dilated measuring 9 cm in diameter with areas of mural calcification seen. Post contrast images delineate a large mural thrombus within the aneurysm.

Case Discussion

The cause of the pulsatile mass was a 9 cm abdominal aortic aneurysm with a large mural thrombus.
