Axial C+ portal venous phase

CT demonstrates an aortic aneurysm, the high attenuation peripherally (axial slices) suggests recent hemorrhage and is a feature of impending rupture.
Apical left ventricular calcification suggests prior anterior MI.
Case Discussion
A nice example of extra-luminal high attenuation in the wall of an aortic aneurysm.
A non-contrast CT should normally be included in the acute assessment of abdominal aortic aneurysm to confirm that the hyperdense crescent is there before you give contrast.
