Abdominal tuberculosis

Abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Female

CT abdo / pelvis

Multiple calcified and non-calcified abdominal and pelvic nodal masses. The largest is in the porta hepatis region, and the main portal vein is encased and narrowed by this mass.

Small volume ascites. 

There is also a well defined peripherally enhancing cystic lesion related to the anterior abdominal wall on the left, with tiny calcified foci in the wall. 

Case Discussion

This case illustrates extensive peritoneal, soft tissue and nodal involvement by tuberculosis.
