Aberrant renal artery

Presentation

Recently detected hypertension. Referred for renal artery stenosis study.

Patient Data

Age: About 35 - 40 yrs
Gender: Male
Modality: Ultrasound

Two arteries are noted supplying the left kidney.

The larger calibre and cranially-located artery enters the left renal hilum.

The smaller calibre and caudally-located artery does not enter left renal hilum. It enters the lower pole parenchyma.

Case Discussion

Finding of an aberrant renal artery without Doppler abnormality.
