Presentation

Dysphagia.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

There is an aberrant right subclavian artery arising from the distal left aortic arch and coursing behind both trachea and esophagus.

Incidental right breast nodule is noted (ultrasound and mammography were requested).

Case Discussion

Aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA), also called arteria lusoria is one of the commonest of the aortic arch anomalies. Often asymptomatic, but may be symptomatic in around 10% of people.
