Presentation

Deformity in both hands.

Patient Data

Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

The thumb is absent on both sides. Three metacarpal bones are seen on each side. The distal ends of the third metacarpal bones are bifid to accommodate the additional finger. Four fingers are present on each side.

Case Discussion

Absent thumb on both sides. Lower ends of radius and ulna are normal. Rest of the skeletal survey was normal. The child did not have any apparent cardiac defects.
